- Shock
- SYMPTOMS. Signs may include cold, moist hands and feet, a weak rapid pulse,
- low blood pressure, nausea, anxiety, chest pain, breathing difficulty and
- sweating. This is a potentially grave emergency.
- CAUSES. Shock may develop after a severe injury, hemorrhage, heart attack,
- poisoning, drug reaction or dehydration and it involves the disruption of
- the flow of blood in the system.
- TREATMENT. Seek medical help immediately. Make sure airways are clear.
- .Keep lying down on back with head lower than heart.
- .Keep the person warm (do not add extra heat).
- .A transfusion could be required. Therapy may be required.
